The Armchair Detectives
Meet Martin Maxwell: octogenarian, dog lover and amateur sleuth.
For most residents at Twilight Lodge, a picture-perfect retirement home by the sea, their days are filled with jigsaws, endless cups of tea and afternoon karaoke. But when Martin discovers that three residents have died in less than two weeks, all with clean bills of health, he suspects foul play. Trouble is, no-one believes him.
Martin knows he needs expert help and who better than fellow ‘Lodger’ Albie - Martin’s arch-nemesis back when they worked for a secret government organisation. With the life of his puzzle-loving sweetheart Barbara under threat, Albie reluctantly agrees to join forces.
The unlikely duo comb every last corner of the home and discover several possible culprits. From surly carer Shane to strict physio Olga, and even high-flying local developer Tommy, it appears there are many with a motive for murder.
But when they uncover a clue which can only be solved by the Lodge’s strongest puzzler, will it be enough for Martin and Albie to stop a killer in their tracks before it’s too late?
An absolutely hilarious and heartwarming cozy mystery perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Robert Thorogood, Jesse Q. Sutanto and Only Murders in the Building.
